It was October 6, 2022. My birthday, and my family and I had woken up before the sunrise to head to Moraine Lake, Alberta, for the last time before the road to the lake closed for the season. Not only were we met with the most wonderful conditions, a birthday treat in and of itself, but it was also so special to share this beauty with my loved ones.

We’d just sat down on a fallen log to have lunch when the sun started to break over the mountain range, transforming Moraine’s glacial waters from a peaceful slate blue to a deep turquoise. As I bit down into my apple, I saw this thin, glowing stretch of light appear where the lake kissed the shore. Hurriedly, I grabbed my camera (thinking to myself, this is no time to eat!). This beam of light glowed as if it was not simply shining in the sun, but radiating from within. To me, it serves as a reminder that each of us has our own light, waiting to shine, radiating within our souls and our hearts.

  • This image is printed on archival-quality lustre (also known as pearl finish) paper, which beautifully showcases dark blacks and deep colours. The finish limits glare, and is perfect both framed or hung-up on its own.

For best results, please give prints a few days to flatten out completely before framing and/or hanging.
