When I took this photo, I felt that the lines between reality and imagination were blurred. There are moments in life so beautiful, almost heartbreakingly so, that we’re truly transported. For me, this was one of them.

I felt like I was standing in an ocean of gold, with sun-kissed prairie stretching out around me as far as the eye could see. In the distance, a pond glimmered like a piece of the heavens had fallen to earth. Bird song no longer sounded like chickadees, finches and robins, but tiny flutes and pipes heralding the morning sun as it gracefully rose above the horizon. The ground no longer grassland, but waves upon waves of light rays.

At the far edge of my frame, a lone signpost stretched above the sunshine sea, as if I was at a crossroads. One path would take me back to earth, where my infant son was cooing gently as he waited for me with my dad. The other would take me far, far away. To a land where the sun never set; where the world was always golden.

  • This image is printed on archival-quality lustre (also known as pearl finish) paper, which beautifully showcases dark blacks and deep colours. The finish limits glare, and is perfect both framed or hung-up on its own.

For best results, please give prints a few days to flatten out completely before framing and/or hanging.
